Author and historian Dr. Peniel Joseph will speak at Stetson University on "Stokely Carmichael and American Democracy in the 1960s" at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23. The presentation will be part of the university’s civil rights/social lecture series.
The free lecture will be held at the Lynn Business Center, 345 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand.
Joseph, a professor of history at Tufts University, is currently working on a biography of Black Power icon Stokely Carmichael.
