altGod’s Black Republican? Some readers, especially in South Florida, may know the name of Rev. O’Neal Dozier, pastor of the Worldwide Christian Center in Pompano, who we mentioned in a story last month. (Full disclosure: I was in a men’s advanced Bible study group with O’Neal maybe 20 years ago. Yes, your humble writer did study the Bible and the Koran.) O’Neal knows how to pick his GOP candidates. He ‘anointed’ Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist governor and Allen West congressman before most of us even knew who they were. Last month, O’Neal was laying hands in his church on Rick Santorum who, lo and behold, is now beating Mitt "Richie Rich" Romney in the polls. O’Neal, would it be blasphemous for you to pick the Powerball number for me?

Another missed opportunity – Bro. Prez took the Super PAC money, saying he wouldn’t "unilaterally disarm" himself since GOP billionaires are waiting in line, checks in hand, to fund his Republican opposition. Had Obama said, "I stand with the people," and refused to take Super PAC money, I strongly believe millions of Americans – even Obama skeptics like me – would have contributed to his campaign. He could have made a convincing case that it’s he and average Americans fighting the super-rich and large corporations for the soul of America.

Millions of Americans contributing small amounts, thus forcing Super PAC-ers to dig deep in their personal stash or business accounts – and then boycotting the businesses of the Super PAC contributors – could have changed the political dynamic and broken the hold of big money on national elections. Am I dreaming? Maybe. But we’ll never know...
