Something special went on in my class. (I’m only 8, you know.)
Most of my friends were for Obama. Like my friends Joey, Grayson, Joshua, Justin and Bryanna. But just five were for McCain – Angelique, Kenneth, Tyler, Melissa and Kayla. Kayla wanted McCain because her mom told her Obama is for abortion. (Daddy told me what abortion is.) That’s it – she switched!
We voted on the 29th of October. But our votes don’t count! That is not fair!
Here’s a surprise. I met Obama! I was like, “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh”, over and over again! I got there by going with my dad, and then I tried to go past the Secret Service guard. He then told me to go back. Then he told me to go back next to Obama.
And that is the tale of how I met Obama. Now we are close friends. I’m glad he is the president now. I wish I could have a puppy like his daughters.
Chayla Cherry is a third grader in Mrs. Roberts’ class at Plantation Park Elementary, Plantation, FL. She wrote this especially for the Florida Courier. She won’t get a puppy anytime soon.
